Kushal is a
partnership project between Credai Pune Metro (formerly
PBAP) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)
to upgrade skills of construction workers in Pune city.
Shortage of construction labour has created a tremendous
influx of under-qualified / unskilled labour into the
industry. The absence of formal training has resulted in
workers taking long to acquire skills, which in turn has
kept their wages at a stable menial low. This has also
adversely affected the industry by way of sub-standard
quality, materials wastage, cost increases, inability to
meet time deadlines and unhappy customers.
Through project Kushal, we shall empower workers with
skills that will help them along their career path and
also give them a chance to earn a better livelihood,
improving construction quality and reducing wastage in
the process. |
